HBS Chapter: SABA
The South Asia Business Association (SABA) plays a key role in ensuring the sustainability of the IFS over years. A new officer position has been created to lead the organization of fundraising activities.
SABA in currently planning its 3rd visit to Rajugella village which will:
- Reinforce our commitment to the villagers
- Create emotional bonds and a sense of responsibility for youth in other cultures and regions of the world
- Assess progress of the school facility and the impact of their potential investments

An 86min documentary called “School without walls” by Robert Andre on RIVER

Through the eyes of children, the games of men, and the tears of women, School without walls reveals a poignant tale of the past becoming the present. The documentary also demonstrates how the school becomes an integral part of the community where villagers take part, children enjoy learning, and women develop hope.

School facility: RTI
For the construction of the Resource Center in Rajugella, ISF partnered with Round Table India (RTI):

RTI is a nonprofit organization of 2500 members composed of businessmen, entrepreneurs and professionals.

Since 1962, RTI constructed more than 765 schools, providing education to over 378,000 children across the country in more 75 towns.

Given its objective of reaching one million children by 2008 through school construction, RTI committed $5,000 from its own fundraising efforts.

Educational Program: RIVER
Rishi Valley Institute for Education Resources (RIVER), Chittoor district, Andhra Pradesh state has a training facility to train principals and teachers.
RIVER was awarded the 1st prize for the "The Most Innovative Development Project 2004" at the 6th Annual Global Development Conference in Dakar based on the proven effectiveness of its multi-grade classroom model.
RIVER is currently seeking donors to:

Increase its capacity in training an increasing number of pubic school teachers sent by southern governments and other NGOs like ISF. A German group – Regensburge University and Regional network of innovative schools (RENIS) – has committed 50% of the cost for building an INTERNATIONAL GUEST HOUSE for teachers of local and international universities to stay at Rishi Valley for longer periods. Another donor is required to begin the project.

Reach remote educational projects initiated by RIVER and local governments through Tele-education which has been designed based on the Ethiopian Rural Education Project in southern Ethiopia.
